All Throughout the Night is a dreamworld where natural landscapes exist. Using ordinary objects such as mirrors, lights, and shadows I create a world of exploration. While going on hikes I come across moments in nature and imagery comes into my head of a fictitious world. A small narrative writes itself as if Iā€™m seeing an opening between worlds. I use these moments as a starting point to create imagery. I have created a character that is a reflection of myself. She lives in a magical realm that can be seen in a reflection of our own. With the repeating character, the darkness and shadows close around her creating a feeling of the unknown. Navigating through these scenes there is a foreboding uncertainty beneath the surface.

Throughout the span of this project, I thought about Plato's Cave. The use of shadows and light creates magical moments in a dreary world. The resulting images are black and white 17x14 inches archival pigment prints. The audience is those who wish to escape reality and for those who wish to experience magic beyond our world.
